Police in Daytona Beach caught a man who was wanted in Puerto Rico for first-degree murder and was on a list of the “12 Most Wanted” people there.
Police say that on Wednesday, Ezequiel Rosado, 28, was picked up by the department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail. He is in jail with a $1 million bond.
Rosado was also wanted in another Florida county for driving with a license that had been taken away.
“Ezequiel Rosado is exactly the kind of dangerous career criminal we set up this team to catch,” the police said in a Facebook post. “Every time we catch a dangerous career criminal, our community is safer.”
A Puerto Rican news publication identified him as Ezequiel Rosado Cartagena. He is charged with first-degree murder and improperly carrying and firing a gun, along with Jaime Rodrguez Martnez, who is 26.
The news source said that the two men “stalked Gary Bonilla Santiago, who was also driving a car, and shot him from a moving car, killing him.”
