Game of Thrones prequel star lands next lead movie role

House of the Dragon star Olivia Cooke has already switched Westeros for something a little different, as the star of the upcoming game of Thrones spin-off has landed a lead movie role.

ahead of House of the Dragon‘s long-awaited release later this year, TheWrap is reporting that Olivia Cooke – who will play Alicent Hightower in the thrones prequel series – is set to lead a new horror from producer Adam McKay, Breeders.

In a statement, Lionsgate boss Erin Westerman shared the production company’s excitement for Kelsey Bollig’s directorial debut.

“We’re hugely excited about Kelsey. Her films come straight out of a horror sensibility she’s been honoring her entire life, and Breeders is a perfect example,” she said.

“It’ll be terrifying and Olivia Cooke is perfect for it,” Westerman added. “It’s also a thrill to be working with Adam, who originated this idea and will shepherd Kelsey’s project with expertise and a first-rate sense of story.”

Meanwhile, in House of the Dragon news, the series has just released a first look at Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen’s impressive, uh, dragon, Syrax.
