However, Deep Eddy’s journey was not without its challenges. In 1935, the city of Austin stepped in, purchasing the property for $10,000 after a devastating flood wreaked havoc on the site. Undeterred by adversity, the community rallied together, supported by funding from the Works Progress Administration, to rebuild and revitalize Deep Eddy. The result was a new bathhouse, unveiled in 1936, marking a new chapter in the pool’s illustrious history.
