Former President Trump launched a scathing attack on acclaimed actor Robert De Niro following the Hollywood star’s appearance outside the Manhattan courthouse where Trump’s hush money trial is ongoing.
Trump took to his Truth Social platform to criticize De Niro, whom he described as “small, both mentally and physically.” De Niro had spoken in support of the Biden campaign during a surprise press conference held outside the courthouse alongside Capitol Police officers injured during the Jan. 6, 2021, riots.
Trump, known for his outspoken demeanor, accused De Niro of suffering from “TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME,” a term commonly used by him and his supporters to dismiss critics. The press conference, organized by President Biden’s campaign, aimed to highlight the dangers of a potential second Trump presidency.
During the event, Trump supporters gathered nearby, waving flags and chanting slogans in support of the former president. They heckled De Niro and expressed their loyalty to Trump. The trial in Manhattan revolves around Trump facing multiple counts related to hush money payments made to adult film actor Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election, allegations which Trump vehemently denies.
De Niro, known for his vocal opposition to Trump, didn’t hold back in his criticism. He accused Trump of creating chaos and endangering freedoms, warning of dire consequences if Trump were to return to the White House. Trump retaliated online, attacking De Niro’s career and suggesting a decline in his value since entering the political arena.
